A room of its own on the upper level, built around a single long table everyone can talk across - which is the point of it, and the reason it suits a company dinner better than a scatter of round tables.
It seats twenty to twenty-two comfortably and takes forty at a push. The far end is a sitting room: leather sofas, a fireplace and arched windows onto Court Street, where guests tend to start with a drink before moving to the table.
The wall is a hand-drawn map of Covington, which people spend the first ten minutes finding their street on.

How a private event runs
The same in every room.
A server of your own
One member of staff is dedicated to your party for the whole event, for both food and the bar.
Food is served buffet style
We do not take à la carte orders for private events. The menu is chosen ahead of the night and laid out as a buffet.
Food goes on one check
The food for the event is billed together rather than split across the table.
Cash bar or open bar
Drinks are charged on what is actually ordered. You can run an open bar on your own check, or a cash bar where guests pay for their own.
Outside desserts are welcome
Bring a cake or dessert of your own. Everything else comes from our kitchen.
Bookings close the Wednesday before
Reservations for the following week must be made by Wednesday at midnight.

Upper level. Up a flight from the front door, and there is no lift - the upper floor of this old building is not accessible.

Jade runs every private event at Smoke Justis, from the first email to the last plate going out. She will go through the food with you, work out the room and be here on the night.

The things worth knowing, in the order people ask them.
- Is there a deposit?
- Deposits are required. An experience reservation is not confirmed until receipt of your full deposit.
- When do we pay?
- At the end of your event. Your server takes a card at the end of the night - that covers the food, and the bar tab with it if you are running an open bar. On a cash bar your guests pay for their own drinks as they order, so only the food comes to you.
- Are tax and gratuity included?
- Twenty percent staff gratuity and state sales tax will be applied to your final bill.
- How long can we rent the space for?
- We rent private rooms in 4-hour blocks.
- What is the cancellation policy?
- Your deposit is refundable if a three-week email cancellation notice is given.
- What decorations are not permitted in the space?
- No helium-inflated balloons, no confetti and no glitter. No heavy-duty tape or pin holes on the walls either - if there is wall damage, you will lose your deposit.
- Can we book a live musician?
- Yes, as long as they are acoustic.
- Are spaces handicap accessible?
- The Boardroom and The Clubhouse are both upstairs and are not handicap accessible - there is no lift in this historic building, so you need to be able to climb the stairs to reach either. The lower level is accessible, which includes the main dining room and the Bourbon Lounge.
